PAFA BFA program

I currently teach in the BFA program at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) in Philadelphia during the regular academic year.  To find out about the program visit the PAFA website.

The Atelier at PAFA  is a working studio environment for a small community of students who wish to work independently on projects and get individual critical feedback about their work and overall development.  The group meets one day a week in the Cast Hall at PAFA.

The day begins with a group figure drawing session of roughly one hour.  Following the drawing session, the model is  setup for an extended pose so that students who wish to paint or make extended figure drawings may do so.  Other students work on various projects of their choosing.  While students are encouraged to work on any project they want, most work from the casts, the interior and still-life set-ups.

The group is open to any interested applicants but space is limited.

I try to teach a one-week workshop each summer at the Gage Academy of Art in Seattle.  If this might interest you, keep an eye on their catalogue or contact me to find out more.
